- Order and purchase your certification packet
- Fulfill birth support, documentation, evaluation, and study requirements as stipulated in your packet
Gaining Experience
The most effective way to gain doula experience is through networking. Get involved in every way you can. Interact at Doula Circles in your city. Read everything on birth and babies that you can – including the reading suggestions from DONA.

Building Your Clientele
Productive ways to network and build clientele include:
- Going to doula circles,
- Being a back-up doula,
- Attending childbirth classes,
- Going to baby fairs, and
- Talking to pregnant women.
Ultimately, client referrals drive most of your business. Until then, work on your certification.
Once you become a CD (DONA), you will be included on the DONA Int’l doula site list, where you can get up to 50% of your clients.
